Write Letters

Write your own Letter to the Editor and submit it to local papers! And yes, include Denver and Colorado Springs papers because so many front range residents come here to play and contribute to our economy and community.
Pick a topic or concern, keep your letter focused and to the point. Keep it professional.
Follow the word count guidelines for the publication, but generally it’s either 150 or 250 words. You will need to provide your full name, address and phone number as part of your submission but can ask that the final article only contain your name and town.

Community advocacy presents an opportunity for engaging with your skills in a way that shapes the future of our community. Being engaged expands one’s views and broadens one’s circle of friends.
Writing letters to our local elected officials and State regulators helps fulfill these needs. There is a complex web of decision-making stakeholders involved in the geothermal utility plant projects in the Valley, including: Colorado Energy Office and its branches, (?Colorado ECMC), ?Colorado Division of Wildlife (CPW), State Trust Land Board, Chaffee County Commissioners, Buena Vista Town Trustees and Mayor, Salida and Poncha city governments, and Colorado legislators.
